Rehmat Foundation Education Program
Rehmat Foundation shares the views of Nelson Mandela who said “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. Poverty has a big impact on child education, mental stability, and future economic independence.
In Pakistan, school children who live in poverty face many obstacles, one of which is the inability to buy school uniforms and supplies. Rehmat Foundation is providing uniforms and school supplies to students in order to prevent school dropouts in Tehsil Jahania Area.
Rehmat Foundation is working with School Education Department(SED), the Government of South Punjab, and the Taaleem Foundation to improve education in Tehsil Jahania area. The emphasis will be on improving infrastructure and introducing E-learning to elementary schools.
According to the MOU among the above organizations, Rehmat Foundation is supplementing the efforts of SED in resource mobilization for supporting technology deployment, facilitating institutional reforms, capacity building of teachers, enriching qualitative outlook, and maintenance of technology infrastructure in public sector schools. Therefore improving the learning environment of public schools and learning outcomes of students with a view to maximize the enrollment of students, encourage their retention, and improve their performance.
Rehmat Foundation has funded the installation of technology in 38 elementary and middle schools with a population of over 13000 students and trained over 100 teachers. The program has been a success in the community and the Department of Education in the district is requesting an expansion to other schools.
Rehmat Foundation has completed a needed renovation of 4 schools. In addition, the foundation donated school uniforms to over 1100 students.
Supported the establishment of IT Labs in a high school In District Muzaffar Garh.
