Huda and I visited Pakistan from February 9th to the 18th, 2025. It was a hectic but meaningful trip. Rehmat Foundation Multan did a wonderful job coordinating all the activities to make good use of our time. Every board member did their best, but without Mian Muhammad Younus, Dr Khalil Ahmad, Dr Rana Altaf in Multan, and Drs. Mubasher Daha and Zafar Qadir in Islamabad, we would not accomplish much.
We were honored to have a donor family, Dr Arshad Iqbal, Mrs Miriam Iqbal, and Dr Sharrissa Iqbal from Nevada, accompany us for a day, and board member Dr Arif Seyal joined us for breakfast and the signing of the MOU with Islamic International University.

Women Empowerment Program:

The Rehmat Foundation team, several officials from the Department of Education, and the Iqbal family from Nevada visited the Rehmat Entrepreneur Center of Excellence in Jahania. The guests were impressed by the different programs and activities offered by the center. The young women entrepreneurs leading the center were confident, enthusiastic, and looking forward to a brighter future.

Education Program:
Rehmat Foundation team, along with several officials from the Department of Education and Dr. Iqbal’s family from Nevada, visited 7 elementary and middle schools in Jahania. The team met with the school principals, teachers, and students to evaluate the effectiveness of the E-Learning program. We were pleased to observe the enthusiasm among the students and teachers. The students we met were confident and happy to attend and participate in the E- learning program. The school administration reported an increase in student enrollment.

Rehmat Foundation team visited 5 schools that had requested the E-Learning program to be implemented in their schools. It will serve 4000 students. Mr Sohaib Imran and Fatima Malik will lead the program.

The school health initiative is a collaborative project between RF and different medical institutions in Multan. This initiative will focus on prevention, evaluation, and treatment of students in elementary and middle schools in Jahania. The following individuals participated in the meeting: Drs Huda Zenati, Ghulam Qadir and Khalil Ahmad had a meeting with Dr Mehnaz Khakwani VC NMU, Dr Ahmer Registrar NMU, Dr Azam Khan Head of Department of Pediatrics, Dr Mujtaba Nasir, chief of Preventive Medicine, Dr Shams Syed, Simulation center NMU, Dr Kashif Chisti Dean of Children Hospital and Dr Mujtaba Siddiqi, Dean of Cardiology Hospital.

Drs. Huda Zenati and Ghulam Qadir had a meeting with Additional Secretary Khawaja Mazhar and Section Officer Hina Chaudhary from the Department of School Education in South Punjab, for signing an MOU for future educational projects. They also met with Mr. Aman Ullah, Health Secretary, South Punjab, Deputy Commissioner Dr Salma Suleman, and ADC -G Ghulam Mustafa Siyahr, District Khanewal, for cooperation in future projects.

Health Care Program:

The Rehmat Foundation team visited the following healthcare facilities in Multan
1- Simulation Center to evaluate its effectiveness at Nishtar Medical University.

2- ER at Children’s Hospital in Multan, to observe the utilization of the 5 beds RF donated.

3- Masooma Hospital, preparation for a free medical camp in the month of Ramadan for 2025

4- ER at the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, to observe the utilization of RF donation.

5- Mukhtar A Sheikh Hospital. Dr Huda Zenati delivered a lecture on Ethics in Nursing and stress management to nursing students.

6- Visited the Department of Ophthalmology at Nishtar and met with the principal, Professor Qamar Rao, and discussed our ongoing donation to the cornea project and further projects.

7- The Rehmat Foundation team visited the Dream Children and Autism Center in Multan. The members were impressed by the services the center provides. The founders decided to sign an MOU with the center in order to provide professional and financial support.

Rehmat Foundation In Islamabad:

The founders of the Rehmat Foundation had
1- Dinner with the stakeholders in Islamabad with representatives from Taaleem Foundation, Quaid-e-Azam University National Institute of Psychology, PIMS, Islamic International University Department of Psychology, Wateem Medical College, and HBS Medical College.

2- Signed MOU with Islamic International University.

3-Breakfast with some of the board members and advisors.

Meetings with our Champions:

Throughout the trip, Drs. Huda Zenati and Ghulam Qadir met several Times with Mian Muhammad Younus, Chairman, and Dr Khalil Ahmad, Vice Chairman of Rehmat Foundation in Multan, to evaluate the ongoing activities and discuss future plans.

The board members of Rehmat Foundation / USA toured Pakistan in February 2024. The team consisted of Drs. Ghulam Qadir, Huda Zenati, and Saba Syed.
The team visited several institutions and foundations, including universities, hospitals, schools, and charitable organizations in Islamabad, Multan, Khanewal, Jahania, and several villages.
The team also met with stakeholders in Islamabad, school education authorities in South Punjab, and board members in Multan to collaborate on various projects. The team also met with the Taaleem Foundation and representatives of the Cancer Society of Multan.
Rehmat Foundation held a free medical camp at THQ Jahania. 8 physicians in different specialties volunteered their time and served over 400 patients.

The trip was impactful and remarkable. We are grateful and appreciative of our board members in Pakistan: Mian Muhammad Younus, Drs Khalil, Wasima Talat, Naweed Sadiq, Altaf Rana, Ali Bukhari, Mr Hyder Jamal, and Mohammad Irfan. Special thanks to Mian Muhammad Younus who went out of his way to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. We found Avari Boutique Hotel our second home. Huda and I appreciate the hospitality and kindness extended by Drs Zafar Qadir, Mubashir Daha, and Akhtar Bandesha in Islamabad. We appreciate Dr Saba Syed Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA for taking the time to participate in the program and delivering impactful lectures on medical ethics, substance abuse, and perinatal psychiatry. Lectures on stress management by Dr Huda Zenati were very timely and needed. Our mental health advocacy resulted in a process to renovate the psychiatric unit at Nishtar.

Visited Nishtar Medical University and discussed with Vice-Chancellor Professor Mehnaaz Khakwani the need to renovate the psychiatric unit. Dr Khakwani agreed and work is in progress.

On the same day we visited Mukhtar A Sheikh Hospital, had a long discussion with the CEO Dr Rana Altaf, the psychiatrist and psychologist with possible venues of collaboration. touched the hospital with Dr Rana Altaf.

In the evening met with Dr Muhammad Saqip Hussain Khawja regarding his interest to work with RF as advisor

Paid a surprise visit to 2 elementary schools. The teachers and students were very appreciative of our work. One of the schools has total of 3 rooms, 2 without roofs and RF installed the roofs. One of the students said” Thank you for saving us from the cold “ She also asked for a swing.

Then we had a second meeting with the young women in the Women Empowerment Program. The women were very enthusiastic about giving back to their community. RF and the group designed environment-friendly shopping bags.

We also visited the utility store that RF has contracted to provide the rations to 65 needy families in Maitla Chowk. We decided to increase the food items for each family.

On February 20 , 2024
Had a meeting with VC Professor Khakwani, Dr Syed Shams and Dr Khalil at the Simulation Lab. Followed by a visit to the operating rooms and psychiatric ward at Nishtar.
In the evening we had dinner with the board members, VC NMU, the architects of simulation lab and operating rooms and other dignitaries from Multan hosted by Dr Rana Altaf and Mian Muhammad Younus.

Made a surprise visit to the new ER at Children’s Hospital Multan. We were pleased with our collaboration with ChildLife Foundation for 5 ER beds.

Drs Ghulam Qadir and Huda Zenati met with Chairman Dr Zafar Qadir and CEO Asim Mushtaq of Taaleem Foundation and discussed the collaboration between Rehmat Foundation and Taaleem Foundation in the areas of Women Empowerment and E-Schooling in District Khanewal.

February 17, 2024 – Women Empowerment Program

RF and TF had meeting with 16 young women from the Women Empowerment Program in Chak #115/10-R Tehsil Jahania to evaluate their progress and address their concerns.

February 17, 2024 – Meeting with Department of Education Officials.

RF had a meeting with the additional secretary of school education, ADC Khanewal, Education officer Khanewal, deputy education officer Jahania, teachers, parents, and community leaders in Jahania to discuss the impact of the E-Learning program and future plans. There were requests from several other schools to extend the E-Learning program to their schools.

February 16, 2024 – Visit to the schools with E-Schooling:
Rehmat Foundation and Taaleem Foundation visited 5 elementary/ middle schools where we introduced E-learning last year. The team met with the students, teachers, parents, and community leaders. It was very heartwarming to see the confidence, interaction, and enthusiasm among the students. Parents and community leaders were excited and appreciative of what the Rehmat Foundation and Taaleem Foundation are doing for their community.

February 15, 2024 – Free Medical Camp

RF held a free medical camp at THQ Jahania. A team of 8 experts in different specialties saw over 400 patients. RF is grateful to the following physicians for their great contributions toward the success of the event: Drs Wasima Talat GYN, Naweed Sadiq and Salman Naweed ophthalmology, Ali Bukhari pediatric cardiac surgery, Uzma Masood oncology, Saba Syed psychiatry, Ghulam Qadir psychiatry, and Huda Zenati psychology. We had the privilege to meet with MS THQ and AC Jahania for collaboration to improve medical services in the area.

The presenters talked about various topics including medical ethics, substance abuse, stress management, perinatal psychiatry, and mental health advocacy. Dr. Ghulam Qadir also discussed with the chairman of PMDC the importance of including more courses in mental health in the Medical college curriculum.
